MOFT Wins Key Industry Innovation Award

What a way to finish off the week! We are officially the winners of the GSK Innovation Award 2021, awarded by the leading industry body, Chemical Industries Association.

Last month we shared that we had been confirmed as finalists for both the Chemical Industries Association (CIA) Innovation Award and Sustainability Award (read the blog post here).

We can now proudly say that last night we took home the (virtual) trophy as winners of the Innovation Award 2021, recognising “the company which can provide the most successful examples of innovation in an area of its business that helps solve today’s societal challenges.”.

To say we are proud would be an understatement. We know metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have the power to help us solve some of humanity’s biggest challenges, such as climate change, food waste, water accessibility, and air quality (read how MOFs will be at the frontline of Carbon Capture technologies here). We were therefore ecstatic at the tireless efforts of our team being recognised for bringing the incredible opportunities of MOFs to the real world.

The Chemical Industries Association presented us as having “developed a unique and innovative manufacturing method for producing Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) that is simple, environmentally friendly, and inexpensive. Mechanochemistry allows the continuous chemical reaction of reagents directly in solid form without the need to use heat or recover and recycle large quantities of toxic solvents to produce MOFs that have unmatched benefits, both commercially and environmentally.”

Have a look at what we do here.

Thank you to the Chemical Industries Association and GSK, and congratulations to all the other winners!

We are off to celebrate…
