Barry was Director of the Johnson Matthey Technology Centre from April 2000 to 2014, managing over 250 research scientists involved in the design, preparation, and characterisation of nanoscale materials. Following his retirement, Barry remains as a consultant to the New Business Division of Johnson Matthey.

Professor Kitagawa

Susumu Kitagawa received his Ph. D. at Kyoto University in 1979. He became Assistant Professor (1979), Lecturer (1983), and Associate Professor (1988) at Kinki University. He was promoted to Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at Tokyo Metropolitan University in 1992, and moved to Kyoto University as Professor of Functional Chemistry in 1998.

Mike Zaworotko currently serves as Bernal Chair of Crystal Engineering & Science Foundation of Ireland Research Professor at the University of Limerick, Ireland.
