There have been numerous reasons for MOF Technologies to be in the spotlight over the last 12 months. But a recent feature in Northern Irish blog, Techwatch, on the Belfast-based firm currently leading the world in metal organic framework (MOF) research, encapsulates just how good things have been for the Queen’s University Spin Out of late.
Part of ‘Catalyst Inc’ – the not for profit organisation for Northern Ireland’s network of entrepreneurs, business professionals and research community – TechWatch featured MOF Technologies in the agri-tech sector late last month. Leading with the company’s collaboration last year with multinational distributor Decco in the development of fruit storage innovation, TruPick™, author Emily McDaid highlights other advances made by MOF Technologies in recent times, including the major investment from Excelsa Ventures and QUBIS earlier this year, and the company’s ever-expanding research team.
‘Can MOFs change the world’, the author asks of company CEO, Dr Paschal McCloskey. “MOFs have the potential to completely change gas storage, and wide-ranging other uses,” he replies. “It’s the next generation of advanced materials to be utilised in multiple applications.”
