A ‘Manufacturing the Future’ research grant has been awarded to Professor Stuart James to investigate environmentally sustainable ways to scale up chemical synthesis without using solvents. MOF Technologies will collaborate as part of this project on the scale of the mechano-chemical synthesis of a range of MOFs while also acting as a vehicle to maximise the commercial impact of this research. This project also brings together experts in chemistry, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering and pharmaceutical processing. The team will include Dr. Gavin Andrews (Queen’s University Belfast), Prof. Tony McNally (University of Warwick) and Prof. Gavin Walker (University of Limerick.
